IN COLLABORATION WITH REFROM AFRICA
OUR PARTNERS
The close cooperation with our partners, who provide great support for the implementation of the project, is very important to us.
MANAGEMENT
CENTER
INNSBRUCK
As an entrepreneurial university, the Management Center Innsbruck is the most important partner and organizer of the project. This partner enables practical, international and future-oriented cooperation with our other project partners. As a hub for the project work, the Management Center Innsbruck provides a representation of the framework operations and the necessary theory for a successful project work.

SOCIAL INNOVATION ACAMDEMY
The Social Innovation Academy was founded in 2015 after six years of educational sponsorship for Ugandan orphans who were unable to work or attend university after graduating from high school. Etienne Salborn , graduate of the Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit, Social and Health Management at the Management Center Innsbruck, and founder of the Social Innovation Academy is the direct contact person for our project work and is also of great importance. Through his international experience and his level of knowledge about current problems in Uganda, we as students of nonprofit, social and health management get to know new perspectives and gain valuable practical experience. The Social Innovation Academy has set itself the goal of unlocking the untapped potential of marginalized young people in order to convert their challenges into opportunities through the creation of social enterprises. A low-cost and, as described by the Social Innovation Academy, irresponsible community approach is turning young adults who have already been deemed useless by society into social entrepreneurs.

REFORM AFRICA
UGANDA
The Social Business Reform Africa was founded in September 2018 by the three young women Aweko Faith, Naluyima Shamim and Mema Rachel. All of the three founders of Reform Africa were so-called scientists at the Social Innovation Academy in Uganda and all share the same enthusiasm for art and environmental protection. With the help of the Social Innovation Academy, the three founders were able to acquire the necessary specialist knowledge and methods to be able to run their own company today. The social business Reform Africa deals with the production of sustainable, waterproof and durable bags, which are made from plastic waste. According to estimates, 600 tons of plastic are disposed of every day in Uganda and around 51% of plastic waste is not collected, but ends up in drainage channels, wetlands, natural water sources, manholes or on the roadside. Reform Africa thus makes a positive contribution to environmental protection in Uganda. In addition, through the establishment of the company, jobs were created for single mothers who can participate in the collection, cleaning or processing of the plastic waste and are paid with a fair wage.
