IN COLLABORATION WITH REFROM AFRICA
OUR PROJECT
In the practical semester of the Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit, Social and Health Management, the students gain practical insights into the world of innovation and project management through project work.
INITIAL SITUATION
The main target group of Social Business Reform Africa is mainly formed by tourists in Uganda. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic that will occur in 2019 and the resulting travel restrictions, travel for tourist purposes has become more difficult. As a result, the main target group of Reform Africa in Uganda has been significantly reduced and the sale of the bags on site has thus been reduced. In order to be able to continue producing and, above all, selling the bags, Reform Africa plans to expand its company and enter the Austrian market.
OUR WORK
As a project group from the Nonprofit, Social and Health Management degree program, we aim to use our project work to identify a new potential target group in the Austrian market with the greatest sales potential and possible sales channels in Austria for the Social Business Reform Africa. With the help of the theory learned at the Management Center Innsbruck, the basic structure of the project can be laid down and linked to practice. At the beginning of the cooperation, values and rules were formulated within the framework of a code of conduct in order to guarantee successful cooperation within the project group and with the project partner. Open communication and respectful interaction are important here. At the beginning of the project work, expectations, goals and purposes as well as delimitation were formulated in cooperation with all project partners and the project group. Then the organizational anchoring was set and the operational and strategic responsibilities of the individual participants were assigned.
The whole project work is guided by the research question formulated in advance. A comprehensive literature search leads to a general basic understanding and forms the foundation of the project work. In the further course of the project work, a general potential target group in Austria will be determined with the help of quantitative research processes and analyzes. Further qualitative research methods such as questionnaires and expert interviews are intended to identify possible sales channels and sales strategies. The market analysis serves to consider the target group's market segment. This should serve as support for Reform Africa in order to give the social business a sufficient overview of the initial situation on the Austrian market. In connection with the subsequent literature discussion, the research results provide the necessary information on possible recommendations for action in order to achieve the goals set.
